Rest in Peace Tiny

Sadly, we decided it was time to put Tiny [our beloved cat] to sleep. She hasn't been herself in over a year since she got cataracts and is up there in age- almost 16! It was a really hard decision, we've had Tiny since she was 6 or 9 months old and she's very dear to all of us in the family. My dad took her to our vet and was with her- he said she meowed right up to the very end, that's just like her! Dad wanted to take her body with him so he could bury her in their backyard next to Lassie. We got a very nice paw print made by our vet that we will put next to her marker.

She was most definitely the BEST cat out there- she was loyal, sweet and loving! She will definitely be missed by everyone who knew her.

Rest in Peace Tiny, We love you!

Baby update!!!

24 weeks/ 6 months

This is another big week for your magical growing baby! Just take a look at the checklist for this week: 1) ears: done; 2) fingernails: done; 3) (if you have a boy) testicles: taking their 3-4 day trip from the abdominal wall to the scrotum; and 4) lungs walls: secreting “surfactant”. What’s that? Well, surfactant is sort of what it sounds like: a surface-activated fat whose main purpose is to assist the your baby's little lungs during inflation (as in, filling with air, not getting more expensive). Just in case you’re curious, your submerged baby is still breathing in amniotic fluid, preparing and rehearsing the lungs an oxygen-filled life outside the womb.

By the end of this week, your child will be weighing around 2 lbs and 14 inches long. Your cutie-patootie may even be a little more plump, but isn't anywhere near their full baby-fatted cute-self. Most of the “filling out” is coming up in that long awaited (and slightly dreaded?) third trimester. Woo-hoo! Get ready!

24 weeks!!!!

I can't believe I'm already 6 months!!! This last month sure has gone by fast and I assume the next couple of months will go by fast as well with the holidays and everything going on! I had my monthly doctor appointment yesterday [Wednesday]. I first had to do the glucose test. I had to drink an orange-soda type drink within 5 minutes then wait an hour. While I waited, I was seen by a nurse practitioner. I got weighed [gained 4lbs.] and my blood pressure taken, which was fine. I got some hospital paperwork that I need to fill out and mail to the hospital for delivery. Once the NP came in, she measured my tummy and said I was right on track then we listened to the baby's heartbeat. It was about 140 and the doctor could tell he had the hiccups, which he's had a lot of lately!

Everything looks good! My next appt. is the day before Thanksgiving, Nov. 24th at 9:45am. I'll be 28 weeks and will receive the RhoGam shot since I have negative blood- fun! After this appointment, I will start to go every 2 weeks- can't believe I'm almost to that point already.

We still haven't started working on the baby's room but hopefully in the next couple of weeks we can get started. We first need to clear out everything in that room then we can start painting! Also, still don't have a name but hopefully once we get started on his room we'll finally decide on one! :)

Fall Festival!

Today Kylie had a Fall Festival at her school! I had to pick her up from her classroom at 11 and we joined everyone outside. Nicole & Haylee joined us for the fall fun! They had games set up, face painting, snacks & juice and a pumpkin patch we could choose a pumpkin to take home with us. The girls had a lot of fun!

Taylor Farms

After Kylie's game, we headed to Taylor Farms! Nicole, Dave & Haylee met us there. We took a hayride to the pumpkin patch where they had a bunch of pumpkins, a bounce house, slides set up with a bunch of hay, teepee's, and some sheep.
