Today, the girls marble painted! You take the top of a box with paint, a marble and paper and shake the box from side to side making the marble go all over the paper. The girls did pretty good with it!

Happy Birthday Jacob!

Jacob turned the big 3-0 this year! We were going to have a big party for him with all his friends but we've been so busy lately that it just didn't happen. I'm such a bad wife! =]

Kylie & I did take him to dinner at one of his favorite restuarants, Outback [of course]!

Gymnastics!

On Saturday, I took Kylie to a trial gymnastics class, called 'Parent & Tot' for 18 month olds- 2 years old! It was an hour long; first there was stretching on the mat, then we went into different areas using the bar, such as: hanging from a bar & swinging, putting your hands on a bar on the floor & crawling up the wall with your legs [spider wall], and doing a flip over a bar [which was a little scary for some of the kids but Kylie did it a couple of times!] Then we did an obistical course- jumping onto platforms and onto big cushiony mats and jumping off, running, hoping thru hoops on the floor, etc. After that, we got to get on the big trampoline! Each kid had their own turn and had to try staying on the "X" as they jumped and fell on their butts. Then the class was over and Kylie got 4 stamps, one on each hand and one on each foot.

Overall, I think Kylie enjoyed it. She still needs to work on following directions and listening to the teacher/coach. Also she needs to work on waiting her turn. We aren't sure if we are going to sign her up now or wait til after the new year when things aren't so busy. And maybe by then, with being in school and all, she will learn how to listen better and to be more patient. I could sign her up for a month but I would have to pay a registration fee now and then again when we start her up again so we'd might as well just wait. Apparentely they don't let you take breaks!

school update!

September Theme-
God made us different- there is nobody just like me!
"I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made"- Psalm 139:1

On Monday, Kylie did fine when I dropped her off. When I came back to get her, she started crying but.... b/c she wanted to stay and not go home! Then today, she was fine again. I don't think she was ready to come home today either but she didn't cry. It just took her a while to stop what she was doing and come to me.

Every time I say school, Kylie corrects me and says "church!". Today they had chapel and she has a sticker on her back that says "we learn & praise at chapel!". In her bookbag, there was a paper in the shape of an apple that she colored w/ an apple sticker on it. For her snack today, I gave her green grapes & goldfish. The goldfish were gone, and there were still grapes in the baggie. Imagine that! So I told her she would have to eat them with her lunch. And of course she gave them all to Marty! So once Kylie got down, and Marty was almost done with her lunch, except for her grapes. I made Kylie try one. I told her to just put it in your mouth and she almost spit it out and then I ate one and said how good they are. She went into the playroom and I was sure she would spit it out! But then she came to me and asked for MORE! So I gave her some more in a bowl. And then she asked for more, again! I said to her "I told you grapes were good!". =]

Here's the sticker on her back....

last day at "Big Whoa"! =[

This past Sunday, was the last day that our favorite summer pastime, Ocean Breeze Waterpark was open! Of course the weather was cool and cloudy but we still decided to go. Jacob's cousin, Shellie was there with her husband and their 2 young sons. Kylie was so excited to be there b/c we hadn't been there in a couple weeks due to the weather and keeping pretty busy. We only stayed about an hour b/c being wet got pretty chilly. And of course, Kylie had to go out with a bang and fell down and scrapped her elbow pretty bad.

Kylie's 1st Day of Preschool!

Today Kylie started her 1st day of preschool! Every time we mention school, she says "no school, church". Back when we signed Kylie up to start this fall, we attended a church service on a Sunday morning so maybe that's why she associates it with church and it looks like a church.

walking with daddy into school....

Kylie went into her classroom just fine. She sat down at the table and started coloring. She gave me a kiss then Daddy and we said goodbye. We were standing outside the classroom when another little girl in Kylie's class ran out of the room after her Mom. Then Kylie ran out too and her teacher grabbed her and brought her back inside the room, which she did not like and starting crying. We went ahead and left, knowing she was in good hands.

I got back to the school around 11:55 and went inside to get Kylie from her classroom. Apparently there were already some other Mommys that had picked up their kids and Kylie got upset and started crying for Mommy. :( I walked in the classroom and she had the most pitiful face that I was almost getting teary eyed, thinking I'm a horrible Mommy for deserting my baby. I think just being the 1st day was a little hectic and was probably a little overwhelming for her. She was definitely ready to go home. Her teacher, Ms. Brenda said she played with yellow play-doh and otherwise had a good day!
