Brayden 2 year check-up

On Thursday, Brayden finally had his 2 year check-up, only 2 months after he turned 2! 

He weighs 25 lbs 13oz [16th percentile] and he's 34.75  inches long [almost 50% percentile]. 

The doctor asked me a bunch of developmental questions about what Brayden could do. 

Two funny things Brayden said today that I don't want to forget...

We were in the car on our way home from the doctors and Brayden said "Done, I'm done pooping!"!! That's the first time I've heard him tell me anything about him pooping. I couldn't believe he said that.

Then later on we were in the car after lunch, and Nicole and I were talking. Brayden kept asking us where we were going. Nicole answered "home" and then Brayden yelled at Nicole "I was talking to Mommy!" Again, I couldn't believe he said all that. Even later that evening, he said it again to me when he was talking to Daddy! I don't even know where he heard that from!

Welcome baby Grayson!

Kerri & I at her baby shower back in March that I co-hosted

My best friend, Kerri just gave birth to her 1st child, a beautiful baby boy- Grayson James late April 22nd at 11:06pm! He was 8lb 13oz and 21 inches long. So excited for Kerri to become a mother and to experience the joys of motherhood!

Funny story... I went up to the hospital to see Kerri around 6pm and she was dilated 3cm [after being 2cm ALL day]. An hour later they checked her and she was 4cm. They checked her again at 10pm and she was 6cm and they told her to get some rest. I decided to go home since it was getting late and I figured it would still be a couple hours before she even started pushing and she was going to try and sleep some.

I got almost home and got a text from Kerri's husband saying she was 10cm and getting ready to push so I turned around and headed back to the hospital. I got there and probably 10 minutes later I hear a baby crying so I walk back towards the room and it kept getting louder til I got to the room and knew it was him! I ran back to the waiting room telling Kerri's family he was here! We had to wait another hour before seeing him and we visited with them for a little bit before heading home. We all couldn't believe how quick everything happened. It was so funny that when she got her night nurse [around 7pm] Kerri was telling her how she wanted to have the baby by midnight and the nurse was saying she didn't think that would happen. Kerri was determine to have him by midnight, she didn't want to be pregnant another day [she would have been 41 weeks today]! So glad I went back to the hospital even if  I got to bed at 1:30am!

Can't wait to see him [and Kerri] again this evening!

Jump Rope for Heart

Kylie is participating in Jump Rope for Heart with her school next week, April 22-26! The school is raising funds for the American Heart Association. 

They will be doing different activities such as: jump rope, play hopscotch, hula hoop and Chinese jump rope.  Kylie's goal is to reach $100!

Kylie's report card

Today Kylie got her report card and she is doing great!

Her "grades" were as followed:

Oral Language- 3 [meets grade level expectations]
Responding to Literature- 4 [exceeds grade level expectations/ brought this up from a 3 from last quarter]
Written Communication- 3
Mathematics- 4 [brought this up from a 3 from last quarter]

She got 'S'/ Satisfactory in Music, Citizenship and Work Habits.

Some highlights her teacher included in the 'Comment' section are:

"Kylie worked hard this quarter and made tremendous growth in all subject areas. Kylie loves learning and is genuinely excited each time she masters a new skill. I am very proud of her."


We are so proud of her too! Her reward for getting a great report card, she chose freeze pops- ha! Can't believe she only has about 2 more months left of Kindergarten!! And she'll be 6 NEXT month [that's all she talks about]!

Spring Break

Last week was Kylie's Spring Break!


On Monday, our friend Marty came over for the day!
It was a warm day so Haylee met us at the park.

On Wednesday, we went to the Hunt Club with friends!

we enjoyed a nice picnic lunch watching the horses

Kylie was back to school on Monday. Can't believe she only has 2 1/2 months left of Kindergarten!
